Counterfeit Friends

“Our friends will influence and sometimes determine the quality and direction of our lives.”

“He who walks with the wise, grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”

– Proverbs 13:20

FOOL: someone who knows the difference between right and wrong and just doesn’t care.

“Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.”

– Proverbs 27:6

HARSH TRUTH:

  1. Enemies can set you back.
  2. A counterfeit friend can ruin your life!

HAVING A COUNTERFEIT:

  1. Reduces your incentive for seeking out the real thing.
  2. Appears to add value to your life, but in the end it doesn’t.
  3. Is hard to leave behind.

HOW TO SPOT COUNTERFEIT FRIENDS?

  1. They almost always (90%) have self-destructive habits.
  2. Simply evaluate the direction of the relationship.
