Kill ‘Em With Kindness

If the heart is a treasury of good, that good will overflow through the lips and do good to others. But if the heart is a treasury of evil, that evil will spill over through the lips and do harm to the person speaking and those listening.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit.
—Matthew 12:33 (ESV)

You brood of vipers! How can you speak good when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.
—Matthew 12:34-35 (ESV)

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.
—James 3:2 (ESV)

I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
—Matthew 12:36-37 (ESV)

Salvation and condemnation are not produced by words or kindness, but they are manifested by them.

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
—Ephesians 4:29 (ESV)

Kindness chooses the right words, at the right time for the right reason.

An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.
—Proverbs 12:25 (ESV)
