Circumstances & Counsel

6 QUESTIONS TO DETERMINE GOD’S WILL

  1. Does the Word of God speak to my decision?
  2. Is God telling me anything specific in my prayer time?
  3. What do circumstances seem to indicate?
  4. What is the Godly counsel of others?
  5. Do I have peace in my heart?
  6. What is the desire of my heart?

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

– Romans 12:2

Question #1: What do circumstances seem to indicate?

God allows us to make choices, and sometimes more than one path can be right.

Question #2: What is the Godly counsel of others?

‘All things are lawful for me,’ but not all things are helpful. ‘All things are lawful for me,’ but I will not be dominated by anything.”

– 1 Corinthians 6:12

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

– 1 Timothy 2:1-4

“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

– Ephesians 5:15-17
