GENDER

Gender Definition

1) “Either the male or female division of a species, especially as differentiated by social and cultural roles and behavior.”

Gender Identity

2) “A similar category of human beings that is outside the male/female binary classification and is based on the individual’s personal awareness or identity.”

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in His own image,
            in the image of God He created them;
            male and female He created them.

 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

31 God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

– Genesis 1:26-28 & 31

But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man.

23 The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.”

– Genesis 2:20-23

Questions About Gender Identity

1) What If I Don’t Feel Like I Was Born The Right Gender?

your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

– Psalm 139:13-14

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

– Ephesians 2:10

2) I Think I Am Attracted To My Same Gender, Can I Be Gay?

Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

– Leviticus 18:22

Our Job Is Not To Change People, Our Job Is To Love People In A Way That Draws Them To Jesus.
